1. Improved company hygiene
Whether you have a business in the agricultural sector or a company involved in the use of perishable goods (catering, recreation, supermarkets, etc.), a Euratainer will complete your company’s hygiene plan. By cooling your waste products (carcases, leftover foodstuffs, etc.) you will avoid unpleasant odours and the unwelcome vermin that accompany them. Air humidity plays an important role in creating an environment in which insects and bacteria thrive. Refrigeration reduces air humidity, therefore also reducing the chance that such environments will form. This is especially important during the warmer months when higher temperatures accelerate the rotting process, causing a nuisance to you and your surroundings. The Euratainer is a well-insulated, closed container; so wandering vermin don’t get the change to rummage through your rubbish…
2. Image improvement
Nobody likes walking past a waste container, let alone opening one, especially if it’s 15 degrees or more. Whether used to contain leftover foodstuffs or animal refuse, the unpleasant odours produced are a thorn in the side of everyone that considers hygiene to be important. Your company’s image will be greatly improved if you are hygienic with waste, thereby improving your, and others’, surroundings.
3. Future cost-reduction
The University of Wageningen will in 2007 complete a research project that focuses on the possibility of collecting cooled carcasses less frequently. Carcases (cooled and weighing less than 40kg) are currently collected on a weekly basis. It is possible that, in the future, small carcases can be collected less frequently, resulting in lower transport costs. For companies dealing with leftover foodstuffs, the collection frequency would be reduced if the perishable waste were refrigerated.
Countries such as Denmark and Finland have much lower population and agricultural densities than elsewhere. Disposal companies in these countries are crying out for cooled storage of carcases; partly because it improves the quality of the carcass and partly because it reduces the collection frequency.
Disposal vehicles in this branch cover great distances when collecting refuse. Reducing the collection frequency will have a positive effect on both transport costs and the environment.
4. A high quality product
Waste products are receiving more and more attention. There is an unbelievable amount of rubbish produced throughout the world, and it’s getting worse. The waste processing industry recycles as much as possible, including perishable goods. Swill, the organic bi-product resulting from food production, is used to cultivate biogas. Carcasses are processed into fuels (bio-diesel), animal feed, make-up etc. It is important for the processing industry that they receive a high quality product. Cooling the waste products ensures that the decomposition or fermentation processes are slowed down.
Through offering a cooled product, you can guarantee its quality as the decomposition process has been delayed. A carcass, for example, consists largely of water. This water provides the processing company only with extra work. The dehydration occurring in the Euratainer results in the reduction of moisture in carcasses during storage. This increases the quality of the product to be processed and reduces the amount of time and energy used during by the processing company. In short, the Euratainer produces a dryer product. This, in turn, has the added advantage that less moisture seeps out of the disposal vehicles, resulting in the improved hygiene of your company and others.
