1. Coolworks developed the Euratainer in 1991, commissioned by and in collaboration with Rendac (destruction company: formerly Cebeson) and NCB (Association of Pig Farmers). The need for a cooled carcass storage system had arisen within Rendac. The Euratainer was developed to fill this need and became the very first carcass refrigeration system. Over the past years it has become clear that the Euratainer is suitable not only for carcass storage, but also for the cooled storage of perishable waste products from various sectors (see who for?)
2. Coolworks is the only company to have a carcass cooling system on the market as well as the technical knowledge in-house. Most suppliers selling coolers import their products from elsewhere. Coolworks is a member of the NVKL (the Dutch Association of companies in the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning sector) and our mechanics are STEK-qualified (STEK = Association for the Recognition of Refrigeration Engineering Firms). We have in-house facilities for sales, production, service and product development, and are therefore always on top of new developments. This has resulted in the optimization of the Euratainer over the past years and the further development of (what began as revolutionary) cooling with Propane. Using propane as a cooling agent was the first step towards an environmentally friendly policy. But it didn’t stop there. Today, all components of our refrigeration unit are recyclable. And we are currently the only producer offering a refrigerator with a stainless-steel humidifier, made especially for us, that significantly lengthens the lifespan of the Euratainer.
3. The Euratainer has been tested twice by independent companies. In 1997 it was tested at a research centre in Sterksel (Practical Research Cattle Farm). The Euratainer achieved the best test results when tested against three other carcass refrigeration systems.
The Euratainer scored highest in the areas of temperature, temperature distribution, energy consumption and air humidity. The Euratainer was also tested in 2004 by DLG in Germany, where it passed with flying colours and can now wear the Fokustest logo.
4. The Euratainer is equipped with an electronic thermostat. This makes the Euratainer extremely user-friendly, as this ingenious system leaves nothing to chance. The thermostat is programmed to optimum conditions and Coolworks standards (minimum temperature, maximum temperature, interval etc.). The user doesn’t have to do anything.
5. The Euratainer is, thanks to its special loading-ramp, extremely ergonomic. The removable front panel (or, on larger models, the doors) enables easy insertion and removal of the mini-containers.
6. The outer casing is made of polyester; a very durable material. The Euratainer is well insulated and uses brushes to close the flap to avoid freezing.
7. The Euratainer is easy to clean. Its completely seamless construction ensures that no organic matter or moisture remains in the seams.
8. The Euratainer boasts the lowest energy consumption of its kind.
9. Coolworks is helping avoid global warming and damage to the ozone layer through using the environmentally friendly coolant, propane. Propane is also one of the reasons that our Euratainer is so energy saving.
